Style of Yoga

We see the value in all yogic traditions & styles. This program emphasizes making yoga accessible to everyone, regardless of age or fitness level. Training begins in a vinyasa flow format, as from our experience, it is more effective to begin teaching a faster style of yoga, followed by learning slower styles, such as Hatha & Restorative yoga.  Once you have your Inspirational Yoga Teacher Certification, you are eligible to apply for our Hatha & Restorative Certification Program. All programs have emphasis on anatomy and teaching a safe, confident and heartfelt class with clear presence.

Tuition & Schedule

All programs include 3 healthy meals per day and accommodations.  Special diet requests can be met, although there may be an additional charge, depending on the request.

Level 1 Pre Requisites

1. 1.At least one year of documented yoga practice, a letter from your yoga teacher can serve as documentation. A completed application form
   

2. 2.Application fee of $150, in the form of cash or cheque made payable to Hali McQuillan Teacher Training Program Once your application form is processed & accepted, you must order your course materials & make your final payment for the course (payment plans are available).
   

3. 3.Upon acceptance to our program, you will be emailed your pre-requisite assignments, which will include the following:

Subsequent to Level 1, you will be required to complete 10 hours of practice teaching, 10 hours of observation classroom work, but also with the self inquiry work. Expect the unexpected.

Level 1 Post Program Assignments

1. A Written Exam

You are required to write a final exam subsequent to Level 1. Any mark less than 90 percent requires a re-write; only one rewrite per person is included in the cost of this program. Should you require a second re-write, a re-write fee of $75 is applicable. You will be advised which questions you will be tested on for studying purposes. All test questions which requires study will be from the Prerequisite Assignments.

2. Practice Teaching Videos & Observation Hours

After the completion of Level 1, you will move into Practice Teaching Video Tapes. Your students in your videos will be your peer teachers in training or other certified yoga instructors, body workers or others who are trained in body awareness and anatomy.  

A minimum of 2 students must attend each of your classes, you must submit the following forms (provided by us)

Classes are to be 60 minutes in length with a 10 minute Savasana.

Video Taping & Form Submission

You are required to submit 3 tapes, hour 1, 5 and 10.

Once submitted, each tape will receive a final Feedback Form from our certification panel.

All video tapes will be submitted with the following Self Analysis Form Student Feedback Form

Once you complete and submit your first practice teaching video, you are ready to begin your Observation Classes!

Attend 10 various yoga classes and submit 1 Observation Form for each one.  Submit your Observation Forms with your last video.  You will receive integration feedback from our Certification Panel.

All videos must be submitted to www.vimeo.com.  Once your video is uploaded, please email Hali the link to your video.

Level 2 Post Program Assignments (assigned at the end of Level 2)

Once you pass in the above Assignments, you will be assigned a Final Assignment - which is based on your individual participation throughout our program and your individual needs for growth in your life.

Certification Process

Once you submit your Final Assignment, you will be awarded your Inspirational Yoga Teacher Certificate.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

The Application fee of $150.00 is due with the application, and is non-refundable. if accepted, the balance is due by the date indicated in order to hold one's spot. If one is not accepted into the program, their deposit will be refunded.

If a student decides that they are unable to complete the program, the student may write an email or letter to the program director with a request to withdraw from the program. Requests will not be considered until received in writing. If approved, a pro-rated refund will be given based on the time notification is received and the module(s) completed. A 100% refund of the total paid less the non-refundable application fee will be given if the teacher training program has not yet begun.

We understand that emergencies and other life situations do arise. Again, we recommend that you carefully review your schedule and upcoming obligations to ensure that you can fully commit to the program. Making up hours missed or completing the training during a subsequent offering are only options in extreme situations and will be extended on a case by case basis.
